Algarve, the Portugal pearl
How to explain the Algarve... a destination for those who love the ocean, tranquility and incredible views, just like me.
Located in the south of Portugal this dreamy place with a mild climate, it is enjoyable all year round.
Algarve, the best beaches
PRAIA DO CAMILO
This white sand beach is set among the classic karst rocks that characterize the entire Algarve coast, its waters are turquoise with some patches of dark blue creating an incredible contrast with the entire landscape, and easily accessible by taxi from the town of Carvoeiro and is about 25 minutes from the capital Faro.
PRAIA DO CANAVIAL
Not far from Praia do Camilo, about 400 meters further on, it is one of the highest points from where you can admire the sunset with a cliff about 140 meters high, you can easily reach it through the small landscaped paths that connect all the neighboring beaches.
PRAIA DO CARVOEIRO
Very lively beach in the center of the town of Carvoeiro, it is about 25 minutes from Faro Airport.
PONTA DA PIEDADE
A promontory with a group of rock formations along the coast of the city of Lagos, in the Portuguese region of the Algarve.
Algarve most beautiful cities
FARO
It is often considered just a passing city; in fact, here is the only airport in the Algarve and it is here that tourists arrive who then head en masse to the seaside towns and beaches.
Precisely because of this lack of interest, the city has managed to maintain a peaceful environment and a traditional charm, which is mainly concentrated in the historic center.
ALBUFEIRA
Albufeira is the largest, liveliest and most lively of the tourist resorts.
Being the largest tourist town in the Algarve, Albufeira offers a wide range of activities and accommodation.
CARVOEIRO
It is a picturesque village in the Algarve, It is also the perfect place to take part in a boat trip.
The boats that depart from here tend to be small, so you can easily explore the many caves of the coast.
FERRAGUDO
With its white houses that descend to the banks of Arade River, Ferragudo is a picturesque fishing village, located in front of Portimรฃo, a place with which it previously shared the responsibility for defending the coast.

What to eat in Algarve
The typical specialty of the Algarve, being a maritime resort, is certainly fish, from tuna to swordfish, from sardines to cod.
But there are also numerous meat dishes and the most popular are based on lamb or pork.
I ate the best tuna and lamb in my life, in Ferragudo, where the fish is very fresh, in fact as soon as you visit it, you will see a lot of fishing nets and gear around the main roads and at a large canal with many ancient fishing boats.
